Well, eight months after it first started making headlines we finally managed to score an invite to the Zivity beta site, and now we can tell you: not very much.

After all the hype it's received, we expected ... well, something we hadn't seen before, or at least something pretty special. You know, something slightly more than just an opportunity to set up a profile page and look at some pictures of naked chicks female beauty.

Granted, Zivity has entered the market at more than a bit of disadvantage. With megaporn site (excuse us, modern pinup showcase) SuicideGirls setting a certain standard for adult communities online, it can be pretty hard for any new kid on the block to compete. Still, given that Zivity is clearly aware of SG (Missy Suicide is one of their photographers), you'd think they'd at least try to have a site that's more impressive.

No such luck, though: aside from the photos and their totally original voting system, there's not much there there Does anyone really need yet another website where they can set up yet another profile? Sure, the pictures are pretty hot (if a bit tame) ... but why do you have to have one more profile to keep track of just to look at them?

True, there have been several attempts to emulate the Digg model for adult sites, but they've all come up short.

Still, people love Digg and Digg lovers like sexy stuff. They helped earn a reprieve for that Fox News Porn parody after it was famously banned, other links submitted with "porn" or "extremely NSFW" in the headline do just fine ... and if you check out the "Best Of" lists from any of our sister sites, the most popular items (with or without Digging) are frequently sex related. So why can't we play along too?

Of course, cynics might say that this very post is just another shameless attempt to bait Digg and score some sweet hot pageview love of our very own. (And they'd be right—too bad we can't Digg this link.) Just don't tell us that you didn't want to share that Jesus fuck doll ad with all your friends in the 2.0 world. If you're having trouble figuring out what is and isn't acceptable on Flickr these days, you certainly aren't alone. Sure, Flashy Babes may look like just another glossy paysite featuring hot naked Canadian and European chicks, but it's not: it's a web community, which means in addition to baring it all models are also given the opportunity to express themelves via video clips (in which they demonstrate such diverse talents as changing clothes and having makeup applied) and candid revelations about their experiences ("I found that the crew really thrives on making the model feel special. We are totally involved in the concept of our shoot, from theme to location. We get to share our ideas and I find that really gratifying) that give you an unvarnished account of what the life of a glamour model is really like. OK, so maybe it's all a little too slick to be a true Web 2.0 effort, but it's still nice to see a site like this that at least tries to give its models some personality and create some interaction with its members—and the folks behind it seem decent enough (as most Canadians of our acquaintance tend to be). Think of it as a sort of SuicideGirls without the pop culture reporting, tattoos, labret piercings, and nasty lawsuits. (And, uh, did we mention that nearly every model here is smokin' hot? )

So we're glad to be assisted in our quest to separate the wheat from the chaff by the pornographic anthroplogists at Fantasti.cc, who first bought you their community escort directory and have now rolled out a new site that tracks videos uploaded to sites like YouPorn and YuVuTu and lets viewers vote on them Digg-style to find out the, er, cream of the crop. While someof the stuff here are the sort of short preview clips from sites like Bang Bros and Perfectgonzo that you'd be able to find simply by going to those sites directly (but then, who has the time?), there's plenty of more obscure hardcore and amateur picks for your perusal—and if you don't like what you see, at least you'll come away with a better idea of what's turning other people on. (As well as with the sense that other people can be totally perverted. But you knew that already.)

When we recently mentioned the UK dogging sensation, we lamented that there wasn't a similar wave of organized public sex in the U.S. Obviously, people over here get it on in public all the time; it's just that no one has given it cool slangy nickname and based a social networking site around it (or at least one that we know of.) However, w've been tipped off to one effort to bring a little Web 2.0 flavor to exhibitionism in America: In Plain Sight is a Google Maps tool where people can mark off the best places to engage in a little lewd misconduct. Visitors are invited to post a story and mark the location of their encounter on the map. The site is actually the creation of a publisher of sex-help books, so who knows if any of these stories are genuine (the locations so far are pretty vague), but we like the idea of building an online database of suitable sexual venues. Perhaps it will become the next big viral internet craze and soon everyone will be dogging it American-style ... or it's just a lame marketing gimmick that's wasting everyone's time. These days it's hard to tell the difference.

Attending the Sex Workers' Art Show is becoming something like making the annual pilgrimage to Mecca ... well, at least for those among us who hunger to hear (and see) tales from the hard-working pros in the sex trade trenches. Even though the dogging (not to be confused with toothing) phenomenon has been going on for several years in the UK, we're still waiting for it to find its way across the pond and into our parking lots and fields. Maybe we puritanical Americans are just too shy about sex in public? Whatever the case, the doggers over in Britain aren't just gathering more followers; they're organized, and using community sites like Dogging.co.uk to rally themselves. It's sort of like Craigslist's Casual Encounters meets Match.com, as folks can post profiles and seek out partners for not-so-discreet get-togethers: couples looking for a third, married folks looking to stretch their legs, or lurkers looking for someone to watch are all welcome, and it's free to post ads.
